Disability charity, CanalAbility, will be opening their doors for a free Open Day on Sunday 28 April. CanalAbility are an award winning charity dedicated to providing the facilities for disabled people to enjoy boating on the river on specially adapted canal boats.
CanalAbility are an award-winning canal boat charity, on the Herts Essex border, dedicated to providing the facilities for disabled and disadvantaged people to enjoy boating on the river.
The Open Day has been organised by a team of dedicated volunteers and visitors can find out all about the charity, meet Trustees and volunteers, find out about the waterways and experience free cruises along the river on an adapted canal boat.
There will be free trips on one of the three adapted canal boats from 12.30 - 5pm on a first-come, first-served basis. Unfortunately, they can not accept any phone bookings.
Each boat is fully equipped with ramps and lifts to enable access via wheelchair and for people with mobility impairments. The boats also include wet rooms, fully accessible toilets, hoists and fully equipped galleys to allow you to prepare your own meals.
CanalAbility are located at the far end of the car park near The Moorhen pub.
