RideWise is an East Midlands based charity which is dedicated to supporting and enabling the use of sustainable forms of transport. They inspire and support people and organisations on a daily basis to travel more frequently by bikes, trams, trains, buses, walking, cycling, carsharing and even electric vehicles…any mode of travel that is good for your lungs, your wallet and your environment.

They are seeking up to two new Trustees to join our Board of Trustees. The Board meets four times a year in Nottingham (although teleconferencing is possible) plus occasional meetings to help shape and develop the charity’s strategy.

This is an unpaid, non-executive role and we want professional applicants who are willing and able to proactively support RideWise by becoming passionate and effective advocates for our charity. This is a good opportunity to share your skills and experience, as well as gaining some new ones, helping to drive and shape the charity’s future in the process.

If you have experience or an interest in one or more of the following areas, then all the better – although experience is not essential: - Experience in the Sport and / or Health (or similar) industry and an appreciation of the benefits sustainable transport can have on people and communities; - You have strong networks and influencing skills and are able to advocate and raise the profile of our charity / help us to reach new audiences; - Business development, bid writing, fundraising; - Governance, HR or company/charity law; - Knowledge / experience of current trends in transport and / or government policy; - An interest or passion for sustainable travel; RideWise (registered Charity number 1153800) is committed to a policy of equality of opportunity and is taking positive action for equal opportunities and actively encourages applicants from Black, Asian, other Minority Ethnic and disabled people.
