Sporting Equals is looking for a skilled professional to join their Board of Trustees. The skills or background they would appreciate more of includes finance, law, sport networking, sport knowledge and marketing. A passion for diversity and inclusion is a must.
Diversity is at the core of the organisation, their trustee board is one of, if not the most diverse in the sport sector as are our staff, with a team consisting of 70% women. They believe in inclusion by supporting and empowering our staff and aim to create an equal and inclusive workspace for all.
Asking challenging questions requires different voices around the table. Diversity of thought, drawn from a range of backgrounds, experiences and characteristics. Reflective of the beneficiaries Sporting Equals currently serves and those they strive to serve.
Meetings are usually in London or Birmingham. As a Trustee, you will be jointly responsible with the other Trustees to ensure Sporting Equals is doing what it was set up to do as a charity. The central aim is to deliver equality, diversity and inclusion across the UK sport and physical activity sector.
So if you have a keen interest in social equality and feel you could deliver some key insight this role is for you. They are looking for an experienced senior-level professional who has proven success in their own area of work, be that finance, law, marketing or sport.
They are looking for an individual who is driven towards positive social change and actively seeks to be a part of that change. An understanding of the charity sector and/or empathy to race equality in sport is desirable but not essential.
