An exciting opportunity has arisen at the RFL, the national governing body for rugby league in the UK, for a new Inclusive Board Member.
As part of their commitment to inclusion, equality and anti-discrimination, the RFL has established an Inclusion Board to support the delivery of Rugby League’s inclusion, equality and anti-discrimination plan - Tackle It. The main purpose of the Inclusion Board is to provide guidance on all inclusion matters in rugby league and to monitor the delivery of the plan.
As part of this role you will act as a check and balance for the plan, reviewing content and offering direction. In addition, you would be required to provide support to the RFL’s Executive in delivering specific programmes within individual areas of expertise and champion inclusion, equality and anti-discrimination issues across rugby league.
To be successful in this role you should be an enthusiastic champion of inclusion, equality and anti-discrimination and have the ability to work collaboratively across all aspects with a broad knowledge across the key work strands of the group.
You will be a strategic thinker, have an understanding of the modern game of rugby league in its various forms at all levels of the game, from grassroots to elite, and the ability to speak, present and network in an ambassadorial role. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills are essential in this role.
The Rugby Football League has proud record in relation to Inclusion. The Board meets on average 4 times a year and reasonable expenses will be paid to Inclusion Board members.
