Tickets for Rio 2016 Paralympic Games now on sale to UK fans

Fans of Paralympic sport in the UK planning to travel to Brazil to support ParalympicsGB can now purchase tickets from Travel Places, the UK’s official Authorised Ticket Reseller (ATR) for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

The British Paralympic Association (BPA) has appointed Travel Places following their work at numerous Paralympic Games, including Beijing 2008 and Sochi 2014, and will use their experience and knowledge to shape comprehensive travel packages for Rio.

Travel Places are extremely experienced at operating in the Paralympic environment and have a good understanding of accessibility requirements. They are also contracted to handle the travel operations of the British Paralympic team, including transfers to and from their preparation camps in Belo Horizonte or directly into Rio.

Travel Places will offer fans information regarding flights to Brazil from the United Kingdom, whilst offering a range of accommodation options for individuals, groups and families looking to stay in the locality of Rio during the Games.

Penny Briscoe, ParalympicsGB Chef de Mission for Rio 2016 said:

“It’s incredibly exciting that supporters of the team can now start making their travel plans to Rio for the Paralympic Games next year. It promises to be an exciting festival of sport and I’m sure it will prove to be an unforgettable event for athletes and fans alike.

“We are proud of the support that we enjoy from our fans – I’m sure that the other nations will envy the backing that we receive both from the crowds in Brazil and from those watching back at home, and it will provide added motivation for our athletes on the field of play.”

The Rio 2016 Paralympic Games will take place between September 7-18.
