YMCAfit build momentum with disability course

The most successfully attended Paralympic Games have raised the public understanding and awareness of disabled people. To help create a lasting legacy, it is vital for the fitness industry that gyms and health centres are prepared to support the needs of all of their members. As well as the inclusive equipment available and accessible facilities- health and fitness provision needs to ensure their staff are qualified to work and support members with all abilities.

To help to support staff, the YMCAfit, are proud to offer their Exercise and Disability course. This course is perfect for Level 2 instructors to gain a greater understanding on adapting training programmes for people with specific impairments and break down barriers preventing potential members from joining facilities. This course can also help you to gain the Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) Mark.

Discounted training

The course can be accessed by individual instructors or the whole company. YMCAfit are currently able to offer up to 48% funding to self-employed instructors or those who are employed by a small to medium sized enterprise. Alternatively, they can deliver an in-house course at your facility for a higher number of instructors at a greatly reduced fee.
