The England learning disability cricket team settled for a share of the spoils yesterday after their game against Australia was abandoned due to persistent rain.

Earlier, captain Chris Edwards won the toss and put Australia into bat in damp conditions. Opposing skipper Gavan Hicks made a quick-fire 36 from 43 balls before becoming one of three victims to fall to in-form seamer Alex Jervis. Jervis took his tournament tally to eight wickets after finishing with 19-3 from five overs.

After several rain breaks, play was eventually called off for the day with Australia 110-4 from 21 overs.

Australia will look to get off the mark against South Africa today while England have a break before a rematch with South Africa at Bramhall Cricket Club on Thursday (14 July).
