Reviewing the charity's successful year at our AGM

The English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS) held the charity’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday 7 September 2017. We welcomed representatives from our Members and other supporters at Chesford Grange Hotel in Warwickshire. Those present learned more about this year's work and contributed to discussions on our future strategy.

Our Chair, Charles Reed, and Barry Horne, Chief Executive, welcomed the guests. They presented this year’s Impact Report and recalled some of the charity's successes.

In the Impact Report, Barry Horne speaks highly of the significant work involved in such a successful year:

"I’m immensely proud of the direct impact made by the EFDS staff team day in, day out. Significantly, this year saw us further magnify our contribution through strengthened collaboration with our members, partner organisations and wider stakeholders."

With two trustees leaving the Board, Members considered the election of two new Board candidates. Charles also thanked departing Board Trustees, Janet Williams and Steve Town, for their commitment to the charity in the Impact Report:

"This year we say goodbye to two excellent Trustees. Steve Town and Janet Williams have given tremendous support in many, many ways. I shall miss their wise counsel at Board and Committee meetings but I know they will continue to follow our work and there will be fresh opportunities for them to contribute."

EFDS would like to extend our thanks to everyone who has worked with us to make active lives possible. We look forward to building on this year's achievements.
