Great Britain success at European Para Powerlifting Championships

Great Britain has swooped up a number of medals at the European Para Powerlifting Championships, held in Berck –sur Mer, France

Ali Jawad and Adam Alderman with medals in hand at the Para Powerlifting Championships.

Day one of the competition saw Zoe Newson secure two Gold medals with a lift of 91kg and 16 year old Oliver Broome also secured two Gold medals in the Women’s 50kg whilst achieving a personal best (PB) of 80kg.

Ali Jawad won Gold in the Men’s 54kg class registering a PB of 165kg, and Adam Alderman secured Bronze with a PB of 149kg.

Micky Yule won a second European title, lifting 177kg in the Men’s up to 72kg, Nathaniel Wilding secured Silver lifting 165kg and Ollie Brown won Bronze with a PB of 160kg.

Today has seen Louise Sugden secure Gold with a lift of 108kg in the -86kg category and her lift was also enough to claim a bronze medal in the open event.
