New dates announced for Coaching Disabled Riders workshop

British Cycling’s Coaching Education has developed a new workshop that will help to increase coaches’ awareness of coaching riders of all abilities.

The new Level 2 Coaching Riders with a Disability workshop demonstrates how sessions can be made inclusive for both disabled riders and non-disabled riders. Modules include familiarisation with adaptive equipment, communicating with individuals with different needs and delivering inclusive coaching sessions.

The recently announced dates for this workshop:

12 October 2013 – Stoke Mandeville, Aylesbury

23 November 2013 – National Cycling Centre, Manchester

The course is a one day workshop aimed at developing the knowledge and skills of existing disability coaches and supporting those who wish to coach disabled riders for the first time.

The workshop will assist coaches with their ability to plan, deliver and evaluate a series of safe, ethical and effective coaching sessions for groups of disabled riders and be able to integrate individual riders into their existing coaching sessions.
