Cerebral Palsy Sport launches activity and fundraising challenge

March is Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month. It's a time for celebrating and educating, and this year Cerebral Palsy Sport is launching a new activity and fundraising challenge that everyone can get involved in. Throughout March, the charity will be raising awareness of cerebral palsy and the many opportunites they provide for children and adults to enjoy being active.

Around two in every 1,000 children in the UK are born with cerebral palsy, and there are an estimated 30,000 children with the condition in the UK.

Cerebral Palsy Sport (CP Sport) has today (Thursday 14 February) officially launched the #CPCan Challenge - a challenge open to everyone to walk, cycle, swim, throw, kick or jump as far as possible during March, raising money along the way. With the target of a combined distance of the total length of the British coastline - 17,819.88km!

Stories of the challenge will be shared on their website and social media channels throughout the month. Donations can be made via the challenge's dedicated Virgin Money Giving page

CP Sport is the country's leading national disability sports charity supporting people with cerebral palsy to reach their sporting potential. They run a national programme that provides opportunities for children, young people and adults with cerebral palsy to access sport events and activities. Check out the CP Sport events calendar
