Para-Badminton training camp is a hit ahead of World Championships

A Para-Badminton World Championships training camp has been hailed as 'another great success' by Team England coaches as an 18 –strong squad prepare to take on the world in Germany.

The BWF Para-Badminton World Championships take place this week (5 to 10 November) in Dortmund with 248 Para-Badminton players from 38 different countries competing for world titles. 

It is an entry that makes the 2013 Championships the largest in history but Team England are confident of success after impressing at a preparation camp at Bath University.

The second training camp of the year saw 17 of Team England’s Para-Badminton stars fine tune their preparations in two days of intense activity, including fitness, technique and tactics sessions.

Two seasons ago, Team England returned from the BWF Para-Badminton World Championships in Guatamala with a haul of 5 world medals and Para-Badminton coach, Richard Morris is tipping the squad to do just as well back on European soil. Morris said:

“There has been some great improvements in all players over the past few months.  We have a very strong Team England squad heading to Germany and we have a great chance of bringing a good collection of medals back to England.”
