Sport Cheshire Ltd seeking Chair
Sport Cheshire is the lead body for Sport and Physical Activity across Cheshire and Warrington. Mandated by Sport England, the County Sport Partnership's aim is to get 50,000 more people, more active, more often, by 2017; for the health and wellbeing of local residents. They are seeking a high calibre, influential leader capable of driving their ambitious charity through the next phase of its evolution.
As an established charity, they invest more than £500k each year on behalf of Sport England, Cheshire West and Chester and other partners. They use local insight to commission programmes of activity that will enable schools, clubs, leisure operators, businesses, community groups, colleges and universities to sustain and grow participation themselves. Their aim is to have much smarter, strategic interventions that will affect real change locally.
Along with sound judgement, credibility and integrity, you will bring a unique blend of proven commercial acumen, gained in complex businesses in the private, public or voluntary sector, and a genuine understanding of the importance of sport and physical activity in health and social terms.
