In conversation with our Vice President, John Amaechi OBE

Our Vice President, John Amaechi OBE is a respected organisational psychologist and Founder of APS. Our Marketing and Communications Manager, Sarah Brown-Fraser, spent time with John recently to discuss the psychological effects of the pandemic and lockdown restrictions.

Evidence shows disabled people’s lives have been the hardest hit by COVID-19. Respondents in our recent Annual Disability and Activity Survey said the lack of activity has led to both their physical and mental health being harder to manage. Feelings of loneliness and social isolation were frequently voiced in the same survey.

Friends for almost 20 years, John and Sarah speak candidly about the hopes and fears as restrictions ease, especially for disabled people.

The full conversation is 12 minutes long.
