British Blind Sport Have a Go Day in Bristol

British Blind Sport is partnering with Sight Support West of England to deliver an inclusive Have a Go Day event in Bristol.

Children with visual impairments playing football

The free event will be held on Saturday 25 September from 10am-4pm at St Pauls Community Sports Academy, Newfoundland Rd, St Pauls, Bristol, BS2 9NH.

British Blind Sport invites blind and partially sighted people of all ages, as well as their families, to 'have a go' and participate in the day. The event will provide a relaxed, friendly, and supportive environment for attendees to try a variety of activities including goalball, hockey, tennis, cricket, rugby, football, and more. Inclusive coaches and local activity providers will lead the sports sessions.

British Blind Sport Have a Go Days have been running successfully for five years all across the UK, giving children and adults living with sight loss the chance to try inclusive and adapted sports. The event will provide blind and partially sighted people in Bristol and the surrounding area an opportunity to get back into physical activity and discover sporting opportunities in their community.

Alaina MacGregor, CEO of British Blind Sport said:

“We are delighted to be collaborating with Sight Support West of England to provide a welcoming and safe environment for volunteers and participants to try out a variety of VI-friendly sports. Our Have a Go Days are designed to increase local VI club membership and broaden entry-level participation in the sport. The events have always been extremely popular, and we encourage anyone interested in attending to sign up!”
