Country-wide benefits of GOGA shared in latest Impact Report
The programme that brings disabled and non-disabled people together to be active saw 1,672 participants take part in 2024-25.

The latest Get Out Get Active (GOGA) impact report, released today, has shown that the programme continues to transform lives by helping people become more active, feel better, and get more involved in their communities.
When joining GOGA, almost half of participants (47%) are physically inactive. Yet, the programme has supported four in five (81%) to increase their activity levels — with 74% maintaining those improvements even after leaving.
The benefits go beyond fitness with nine in ten (92%) reporting improved mental wellbeing. 77% say they feel better about their life as a whole. Community engagement has also flourished, with 78% of non-disabled and 65% of disabled participants becoming more involved locally.
Made possible by founding funder Spirit of 2012 and additional investment from Sport England and London Marathon Foundation, GOGA is led by Activity Alliance and continues to be focused on getting some of the UK's least active people moving.
Helen Derby, Activity Alliance’s Strategic Lead of Programmes said:
“Get Out Get Active puts people at the heart of everything it does. Allowing local communities to shape the opportunities that they want. The figures in our latest impact report show that it works, and it’s no surprise that it continues to flourish.
“This impact report puts numbers to the thousands of smiles that have been had up and down the country at fun and inclusive activities.”
GOGA’s commitment to representation is clear, with almost 3 in 10 (28%) of its volunteers living with an impairment or long-term health condition. In 2024–25 alone, GOGA reached 1,672 individual participants, delivered 179 activities, and supported 372 volunteers.
Since its inception almost 10 years ago, GOGA has engaged 37,443 individual participants through 3,510 activities. It has supported 4,490 volunteers, and delivered 3,973 training sessions. The programme also delivers significant financial value, generating £4.60 in social, environmental, and economic returns for every £1 invested, including £3.70 in wellbeing benefits.
