Our name and brand
We became Activity Alliance in April 2018 (previously known as the English Federation of Disability Sport). September 2018 marked 20 years since we became a national charity and we are proud of our success so far. We work with so many amazing people and are at the centre of influential world-renowned programmes for disabled people. The time was right for us to embrace change, engage new audiences and ensure our brand promise matches our ambition.
Activity Alliance brings our members, partners and disabled people together to make active lives possible. Collectively, we continue to challenge perceptions and change the reality of disability, inclusion and sport.
Why the name change?
We carried out a strategic review that included research with our members, partners and stakeholders about who we are, what we do and the impact we are having.
Our review concluded that we needed to broaden our focus to embrace well-being, activity and health giving us a wider remit, and the opportunity to deliver greater impact for disabled people.
The feedback we received showed that our original name, the English Federation of Disability Sport, was limiting what our current and potential stakeholders and crucially disabled people thought we could do.
We decided to renew our strategy and to change our name.
Please do speak to any of the Activity Alliance team if you have any questions. We are extremely excited about the future and look forward to working with you.
