Activity Alliance is taking on new members and we would love you to join us. With your support, we can create a fairer place, where disabled people are empowered to be active, however and wherever they want to be.

Membership application process

Follow these steps to become an Activity Alliance member and be a part of our collaborative movement for change.

Step one - membership application

Please complete an application form. This can be found at the bottom of this page.

Step two - membership commitment

Sign up to Activity Alliance's membership commitment and show your support for our vision. We ask all organisation and group members to sign up to our membership commitment.

In return for your commitment, Activity Alliance will feature your organisation's name on our movement lists for future campaigns and advocacy work. We will also take your organisation on an inclusion improvement journey with our Lead programme (this applies to sport and leisure organisations only).

Our membership commitment form can be found at the bottom of this page.

Step three - Lead improvement plan

All sport and leisure organisations applying for membership are required to create and implement a Lead improvement plan with a minimum of three themes identified as priority areas for action.

What is Lead?
Lead is an organisational improvement programme focussed on disability equality. It supports organisations to self-assess their offer for disabled people under a range of key themes. The themes help organisations to identify their strengths and areas for improvement. Find out more about our Lead programme here.

Our team of expert advisors will be on hand to support member organisations through the programme. More information and guidance on Lead will be provided on application.

Step four - approval process

The approval process is dependent on your membership category:

  • Full and associate membership applications are reviewed by our Board of Trustees.
  • Local membership applications are reviewed by our senior management team or designated Regional Representative.

Once your organisation becomes a member, we ask you to take an active role in helping us to achieve our vision of fairness for disabled people in sport and activity. As part of this, all members are asked to complete our annual stakeholder survey. While our partnerships team will support full and local members to implement their Lead improvement plans.
