With 100 days to go to the start of the Nottingham 2015 CPISRA World Games, Cerebral Palsy Sport have unveiled the official Games mascot to the world.

In September 2014, the Games organisers invited all Nottinghamshire schools to enter a Design a Mascot competition. The brief was to create a mascot to represent the Games and Nottinghamshire, to reflect the colours of the Nottingham 2015 World Games and for it to be a full character.

They received over 200 entries for the competition which were then shortlisted down to a selection of 25. These were then judged by members of the Nottingham 2015 Organising Committee’s Board. Anthony’s design of Louey that was drawn and coloured by hand, stood out from the entries.

Ali Talbot, Chief Executive of Cerebral Palsy Sport said:

'We are delighted to mark this special day of 100 days to go to the start of the Games by unveiling Anthony’s design of Louey. He is such a friendly mascot and will make a lot of friends in the run up to and during the Nottingham 2015 World Games. We are very proud of Anthony’s design and it is lovely to share this moment with his family.'

Anthony’s father, Robert said:

'We are so proud that Anthony’s design has been chosen to represent the World Games, we are all really thrilled to see his drawing come to life.'

Ruth Ellis, Headteacher of Hogarth Academy said:

'We are all very proud of Anthony and plan to put his winning design on our website. Well done also to all of the Year Three children who took part in the competition and especially Elijah Stanbury, whose design came third overall in the competition.'

The Nottingham 2015 CPISRA World Games will take place in the heart of the historic city of Nottingham from 6 - 16 August 2015, with the majority of the competition taking place on the new iconic Harvey hadden Sports Complex.
