EFDS and NDSOs seeking young disabled people for research interviews
During June and July 2015, Chrysalis Research would like to interview young disabled people with physical or sensory impairments about sport and physical activity. The company is working on behalf of the English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS) and many National Disability Sport Organisations (NDSOs).
EFDS and many NDSOs are working together on a study of inactive and active young disabled people. The NDSOs involved in this research are- British Blind Sport, Dwarf Sports Association UK, WheelPower, Cerebral Palsy Sport, LimbPower and UK Deaf Sport.
In order to take part in the research you must:
- Be aged between 16-25, and
- Consider yourself to be a disabled person. (By this we mean, do you have an impairment or health condition that affects your daily life?*)
Chrysalis Research are particularly interested to hear from young disabled people who:
- Have not taken part in sport/physical activity since leaving education, but would be interested in doing so
- Used to do sports/physical activity in the past, but now do less
- Used to take part in sports/physical activity but have now stopped completely
The aim of the research is to explore young disabled people’s experience of sport/physical activity in the time between education and adulthood.
*We would like to hear from people with cerebral palsy/ people who are hard of hearing/ people with a visual impairment / people with restricted growth / people with limb loss/ people who use a wheelchair.
