WheelPower announces new opportunities for disabled young people

Over the coming months, WheelPower the national charity for wheelchair sport, is running a series of fun participation opportunities for disabled young people.

The events aimed at 6-18 year olds, are a great way for children and young people with physical and mild sensory impairments to discover sport in a friendly and inclusive environment.

WheelPower National Junior Games

The National Junior Games is an annual event for disabled young people aged 11-18 with physical impairment or mild sensory impairment. Held at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, the Games combine have-a-go sessions in a variety of sports with coaching and competitions for different age groups.

Date: Monday 28 September to Thursday 1 October

Primary Sports Camp: London

WheelPower is running three Primary Sports Camps in London for children aged 6-11 years with physical impairments or mild sensory impairments. Kindly support by Wembley National Stadium Trust, this event is a great way to introduce your child to a range of different sports and activities.

Tuesday 6 October: Hillington, venue to be confirmed

Tuesday 13 October: Islington, Sobell Leisure Centre, Hornsey Road

November: Southwark, venue and date to be confirmed

Primary and Junior Sports Camps: Stoke Mandeville

Taking place at the birthplace of the Paralympic movement, Stoke Mandeville Stadium, WheelPower is hosting two sports camps during October and November 2015 for children and young people aged between 6-18 years with physical impairments and mild sensory impairments. Both events are a great way to introduce your child to sport and physical activity in a fun, friendly inclusive environment.

Saturday 17 October: Primary Sports Camp for children aged 6-11 years

21 - 22 November: Junior Sports Camp for young people aged 12-18 years
