Paralympian Stephen Miller joins Cerebral Palsy Sport as sporting ambassador

Cerebral Palsy Sport, is delighted to announce that Paralympian, Stephen Miller has joined the charity as a sporting ambassador. Stephen takes up the role alongside talented tennis player James Shaw, to support Cerebral Palsy Sport to encourage more children and adults with physical impairments to enjoy sport and exercise.

As a professional athlete, Stephen (pictured above right) competes primarily in the F32 Club Throw. At the 1996 Atlanta Games, aged 16, he became Britain’s youngest ever gold medallist across both Olympic and Paralympic games. From then Stephen went on the dominate the event, remaining undefeated in all competitions until 2005. Stephen has represented Great Britain for over 15 years, competing in five Paralympic Games, five World Championships and four European Championships. Winning 26 international medals in the process.

Talking about his experiences Stephen said:

“Every moment I spend in sport is great, the highs and lows, they are all part of sport and I love it.”

Cerebral Palsy Sport is honoured to have such an accomplished athlete as one of our sporting ambassadors. Stephen brings with him many years of experience competing at an international level and his achievements will no doubt be a great inspiration to many of the young athletes the charity  introduces to sport.

Cerebral Palsy Sport exists to improve the quality of life of children and adults living with cerebral palsy through the provision of sport and recreational activities. They offer recreational opportunities and sporting pathways in athletics, bowls, football, junior multi-sports, swimming and table cricket.
