Inaugural cricket disability event is a big hit in Dorset

The first indoor disability cricket hub competition took place at Ferndown Leisure Centre following a series of coaching sessions across the county over the summer. A fun competition, the event was enjoyed by all with the Ferndown hub running out eventual winners.

A number of new players are likely to be recommended to the full disabled Dorset team. Coaching sessions were held at the leisure centre (linked with Ferndown Wayfarers Cricket Club), Rossmore Leis-ure Centre (linked with Broad-stone Cricket Club) and Dorch-ester Sports Centre (linked with Dorchester Cricket Club).

More are planned over the winter with the Ferndown sessions starting on Friday 4 October, from 4.30pm to 5.30pm. Anyone interested in attending should contact Abbie Taylor on 01202 877468 or email her through abbietaylor@dc leisure.co.uk

Details of sessions running at Rossmore Sports Centre and Dorchester Sports Centre will be put on the Dorset Cricket Board website
