Team CP England, made up of 26 swimmers and 37 athletes (including RaceRunners) and won a total of 44 golds, 36 silvers and 30 bronze medals. This more than doubled their closest rivals Poland who finished with 51 medals. The event was not only a huge success for the athletes in terms of the medals won, there was lifetime best, season bests, and personal bests for all most all of the team.

The Games provided many newcomers with the opportunity to experience international competition for the first time. A fantastic experience for Team CP England, it showed the country's talent against their international rivals on the track, field and in the pool.

Lisa Morton-Smith, Chef De Mission for Team CP England said:

“The Games were a fantastic opportunity for all Team CP England athletes. Not only did most experience international competition for the first time, they made friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. Topping the medal table was an extra credit to how hard each athlete had work prior to and during the games. I am incredibly proud of each and every one of the team”.

A Team CP England athlete said:

“Huge thank you to everyone who made the games possible and such an amazing experience. I very much enjoyed my first World Games and debut representing England”.

An athlete's parent said:

“I just wanted to thank you again for an amazing experience. From arriving knowing no one, to coming together as a team and to leaving as friends it was incredible”.

Congratulations to all at Team CP England and Cerebral Palsy Sport. They would like to share a special thanks to the volunteers who supported the team throughout the Games.
