Jingleballs Jingleballs Jingle all the way!

For many children, their first experience of activity is as they grow up- kicking, throwing or rolling a ball. It is a simple activity that increases coordination, keeps children active and encourages an early interest in sport. It is the harsh reality that for the 25,000 blind and partially sighted children in this country, they will not get this opportunity. As with many other activities, they are excluded because of their impairment.

British Blind Sport is a national charity that believes all visually impaired people should have the same opportunities in sport and recreation as their sighted counterparts. Therefore this Christmas for every £10 donated to British Blind Sport they will give a Jingleball – a soft play ball with bells in it to a blind or partially sighted child. This audible ball will allow the child to play and learn on their own or with siblings in the comfort of their own home or garden.

Lucy Shepherd, Senior Fundraiser at British Blind Sport said:

“We’re really pleased to launch the British Blind Sport Jingleballs Campaign and we hope that your readers will support it. Jingleballs are a great, fun way for a visually impaired child to get active and improve their motor skills and we believe that all children should have this opportunity. There are plenty of ways to support the campaign, so please do get involved.”
