Latest update: 2020 Manchester Marathon – Coronavirus

Manchester Marathon has announced the postponement of the 2020 Asics Manchester Marathon, which was due to take place Sunday 5 April 2020. The marathon is now due to take place on Sunday 11 October 2020.

Here is the official statement which includes information for runners.

The Manchester Marathon team said:

We are thrilled to say we have agreed a new date with the great support of Trafford and Manchester City Council and we will now be able to host the 2020 Manchester Marathon on Sunday 11th October. This will sit alongside our sister event; the Tommy’s Manchester Half and become an outstanding day for marathon and half marathon runners together, with our incredible route combining the immensely popular Trafford sections, plus a section through the city centre.

Activity Alliance cannot thank you enough for your support and dedication so far. This is obviously very disappointing, as we know our fundraisers have been training and fundraising so hard for the last few months. We are thankful it is postponed and not cancelled. You have raised an incredible amount to date. Our Fundraising Coordinator, Sarah Edwards, will be in touch soon with further information as it becomes available.

If you are running for Activity Alliance in 2020 or would like to use your running place to raise money for the charity, you can contact our Fundraising Coordinator for more information. Sarah Edwards email is sarahe@activityalliance.org.uk or call her on 07866 921745.

Please take care and follow public health authority advice and information on the NHS and Government websites.
