Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson joins top field in British Elite Duathlon Championships

The British Elite Duathlon Championships has inspired a world-class field that includes multiple Paralympic gold medal-winning Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson DBE to compete at the Rockingham Circuit in Corby this Sunday 30 March 2014.

Baroness Grey-Thompson DBE will join a stellar field that includes three reigning paratriathlon world champions, Melissa Reid (Tri-6b), Chris Goodwin (Tri-6a) and Matthew Emmerson (Tri-5) in the British Paraduathlon Championships. Athletes will complete a 5km run, 20km bike and 2.5km run.

Alongside the paraduathlon race, the event will feature races for elite youths, juniors and seniors as many athletes test the success of their winter training in the traditional season opener.

The seniors and juniors will compete over sprint distance duathlon (5km run, 20km bike, 2.5km run), battling it out for a share of a £5,000 prize fund as well the first British Championship honours up for grabs in the 2014 season.

Youth duathletes will compete over half the distance of the seniors (2.5km run, 10km bike, 1.25km run), with the race acting as the season opener of the British Triathlon Youth and Junior Super Series.

All races will be held over a multi-lap format, making it a great event for spectators to enjoy at what is a truly impressive venue.
