Get Set for Life Disability Football sessions in Aylesbury Vale

Football sessions are being offered to disabled people in Aylesbury Vale's, thanks to partnerships between local clubs. Aylesbury United, the MK Dons and AVDC are putting on the Get Set for Life Disability Football sessions for over 16s every weekend until December.

Accessible for everyone, Get Set for Life Disability Football is funded by Berks and Bucks Football Association, who successfully bid for the FA's Disability Football Development Fund.

Working with MK Dons and Aylesbury United Football Club, the project aims to promote disability football, increase levels of provision, and re-engage individuals that may have previously been involved in disability football.

James Byrne from Aylesbury United FC said:

"We are delighted that Aylesbury United Football Club will now be able to offer a pathway through from our weekly disabled/special needs sessions for children, through to our U12 and U16 BOBi league teams and then onto a senior team."

Councillor Howard Mordue, AVDC Cabinet Member for Leisure, said:

"It's very important to ensure that all members of our community have the opportunity to participate in sport in Aylesbury Vale, whether that's through sessions designed specifically for people with disabilities or making sure that our facilities are accessible for all."
