Dates announced for International Para-Swimming event

The British Para-Swimming International Meet will take place at Tollcross, Glasgow between 26 and 29 March 2015 - just four months before the IPC World Championships are held in the same venue.

The March event is one of the largest open competitions for para-swimming and will attract teams from countries all over the world. It will also be a key qualification meet for the World Championships, which take place from 13 to 19 July, and will give athletes a chance to compete at Tollcross before the main event.

Councillor Archie Graham, Chair of Glasgow Life, said:

“After what has been an outstanding summer of sport for Glasgow with the best ever Commonwealth Games we are delighted to be welcoming back the British Para-Swimming International Meet for the second year in a row to our world-class Tollcross International Swimming Centre. The International Meet will be a qualification event for the IPC World Swimming Championships which takes place in the same venue just four months later. Events such as these reaffirm Glasgow’s position as one of the world’s leading sporting cities and these championships will add to our ever growing portfolio of major events from 2015 onwards. We look forward to welcoming the world Paralympic swimming family to our friendly city.”
