Through surveys, focus groups and activities with our programme networks we identified a need for better understanding and guidance on workplace adjustments for disabled people. This led to the co-production of the following resources to support both disabled people and employers to learn about workplace adjustments, including what can and should be provided in work, how, and the benefits. If you would like to know more about how and why these documents were created please read this Workplace adjustments supporting document.

  1. Workplace Adjustment Examples: This resource offers practical guidance and adaptable examples to help organisations consider inclusive workplace adjustments for different needs and challenges.
  2. Workplace Adjustments Lived Experience Examples: This resource shares real examples of how workplaces have made practical adjustments to better support disabled people.
  3. Access to Work Guidance for Employees: This guidance helps disabled people understand the Access to Work scheme and how it can support them to remove barriers and thrive in employment.
  4. Reasonable Adjustments Guidance for Employees: This guidance supports disabled people to understand reasonable adjustments and feel confident discussing changes that can help them access work on an equal basis.

Lived Experience Network resources

From the beginning, the Include to Improve programme has been shaped and developed with disabled people's lived experiences. As part of this, we created a framework and supporting documentation to guide the development of the programme's Lived Experience Network. These were informed by findings from a literature review, best practice from existing networks and legislation. This insight supported us to develop the network's principles, structure and policies, and provided the foundation for co-production. These resources are available for your use and adaptation within your own organisation.

If you would like to know more about how and why these documents were created please read this Lived Experience Network guidelines supporting document.
