About the course
This 1.5 hour eLearning course is designed to improve your knowledge and confidence delivering inclusive communication practices.
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Explain what accessible and inclusive communications are and why they are important for reaching diverse audiences, including disabled people.
- Recognise how good communications overcome barriers, build trust, and comply with legal requirements such as the Equality Act 2010.
- Identify the diverse needs of disabled people by understanding the social model of disability and the barriers disabled people face in communications.
- Use principles of plain English, inclusive language, and accessible design (fonts, colours, imagery) to develop communication materials that are clear and engaging.
- Choose more accessible formats and delivery channels to ensure effective, barrier-free communication for all.
