Activity Alliance celebrates successes at AGM
Activity Alliance held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday 15 October 2025. Outgoing Chair Sam Orde opened her final AGM today, with the meeting looking back at a hugely significant year for Activity Alliance.

Activity Alliance’s impact highlights
In a year that saw the launch of the charity’s new strategy - We all belong, there was a huge amount to celebrate as members, partners, Board of Tustees and staff gathered in Loughborough for the Annual General Meeting.
Alongside the day’s meeting, Activity Alliance’s Annual Trustees' Report for 2024-25 was released, highlighting the impact we have had over the past 12 months. From revealing four new ambassadors to launching our manifesto for Government the year has been packed with impactful work. We also launched the Activity Alliance Learning Hub, a new home for inclusive training, as well as several major research projects.
Writing in the report Adam Blaze, CEO, shares his highlights but stresses the need for our work to continue. He writes:
“What a great year for Activity Alliance. The many projects we’ve delivered, the research we’ve carried out, the insight we’ve shared, the training opportunities and programmes we’ve launched, and our work in policy. I couldn’t be prouder of the team and the difference we are making every day.
“We are creating change and improving disabled people's lives through sport and physical activity. We have made great strides this year but there is still so much more to do. Many people still do not have access to meaningful opportunities to be active, and so our important work continues.”
Sam Orde steps down as Chair
The AGM was also an opportunity to pay thanks to the immense contribution that Sam Orde has made as Chair of the Board. In her final remarks, published before the AGM Sam paid thanks to the many people she has worked over seven years as Chair. (Image below shows CEO, Adam Blaze and Chair, Sam Orde.)
“I want to thank everyone I have worked with. I pass on a huge thank you to our staff, trustees, members, partners, and funders. You have made this journey not only rewarding but also great fun. I step away confident that Activity Alliance will continue to play a vital role in ensuring that disabled people feel they belong in sports and activities.”

Adam thanked Sam for her dedication to the role:
“As Sam steps down as Chair, I want to thank her for her outstanding leadership and commitment over the past seven years.
Sam has been a major part of the organisation as it progressed through times of great change. She led the Board with integrity, compassion, and an unwavering belief in fairness and inclusion. Her vision and dedication helped to shape a stronger organisation.
Sam’s approach, wisdom, and collaborative spirit have left a lasting mark on all of us. On behalf of everyone at Activity Alliance, I thank her for her immense contribution and know she will be a strong advocate of our work for years to come.”
New Chair and trustees join the Board
The meeting also acknowledged changes to our Board of Trustees with the appointment of a new Chair and three new trustees.
Activity Alliance is delighted to announce Adam Paker as its New Chair. Adam brings over 25 years of leadership experience in the sport and physical activity sector, having driven transformation across national and international sporting organisations. Adam took up the Chair role following conclusion of the AGM.
We also welcome Lindsay Games, Rory O’Keeffe and Jane Duncan as Trustees. They join Ian Mullane and Reena Parmar who were also recently appointed to the Board in September. Find out more about our new Board members here.
Finally, we would like to thank Andrea Dando for her contribution and service on the Board for the last four years. Andrea concluded her time as a Trustee at today’s meeting.
