Adam’s distinguished career includes senior commercial roles at FIFA and Chief Executive positions at Commonwealth Games England and Swim England, where he led major organisational change and growth initiatives.
An alumnus of INSEAD, the world’s leading business school for strategy, Adam combines a rigorous analytical approach with a passion for turning strategic vision into tangible outcomes. Most recently, at Portas Consulting, the world’s leading sport-focused strategy consultancy, he advised global governing bodies and national federations on governance reform, competition restructuring, financial sustainability, and inclusivity.
Upon his appointment, Adam said:
“It’s a huge honour for me to join Activity Alliance as Chair. I believe strongly that the work of the organisation has never been more important and necessary than it is today, as disabled people in this country continue to face significant barriers to accessing and enjoying all the benefits of sport and physical activity.
“I look forward to building on the excellent work that the Board and leadership team of Activity Alliance has already achieved towards creating a future where all disabled people feel they belong in sports and activities.
“I would like to put on record my thanks to Sam Orde, the outgoing Chair, for her dedicated service to Activity Alliance and I am looking forward to building on the legacy she has helped to create.”
As part of an extensive portfolio of public and private sector clients, Adam has advised International Federations, Sports Ministries, Olympic Committees and funding bodies in the UK, Europe and Middle East.
Beyond his executive roles, Adam is an accomplished Non-Executive Director, having served on the Boards of Sporting Equals, The Swimming Trust, and the Children’s Activities Association.
Throughout his career, Adam has been deeply committed to ensuring that the transformative power of sport and physical activity is accessible to everyone.
Our Chief Executive, Adam Blaze, said:
“It is with great pleasure that we welcome Adam as our new Chair. The appointment marks a significant and exciting next chapter in our journey.
“Adam’s wealth of experience, strategic insight, and commitment will be invaluable as we work with disabled people and an alliance of committed partners to build a powerful movement for change. I look forward to working alongside him to deliver our vision, creating lasting and positive change.”
