Include to Improve launches support actions for partners
Include to Improve, a pioneering programme led by Activity Alliance and Sport for Confidence, has launched a menu of targeted support offers based on lived experience insight, for organisations in its Strategic Partner Network to improve inclusion.

Include to Improve is a two-year programme set up to increase the number of high-quality accessible opportunities for disabled people to take part, volunteer and work in the sport and physical activity sector. It looks to address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and cost-of-living crisis on disabled people's engagement with sports and activities at all levels.
There are two networks in the programme. The Lived Experience Network (LEN) provides a safe space for disabled people to share their views of taking part, volunteering and working in the sport and physical activity sector. The Strategic Partner Network (SPN) is a collaborative group for organisations wanting to strengthen their commitment to disabled people's inclusion.
Our Include to Improve programme team have been working together with these networks to improve existing services and shape new inclusive solutions across the sector. Following on from that work, organisations in the SPN can now access a range of targeted support offers designed to address key challenges identified by the LEN. Each initiative has been shaped by disabled people’s lived experiences, sector insight and programme evaluation activities, ensuring relevance, impact, and practical value.
By taking part, organisations will gain access to expert guidance, collaborative learning opportunities, and tailored resources that support meaningful change.
The support offers:
- Online hub – an online area that will bring together trusted, actionable guidance in one accessible online place.
- Peer advocate support – the introduction of peer advocate roles within the sport and physical activity sector.
- HR consulting – a targeted support programme provided by BASE (British Association of Supported Employment), combining tailored consultancy, collaborative learning, and resource development.
- End to end recruitment audit – a comprehensive recruitment audit delivered by industry experts, Inclusive Employers.
- Occupational therapy led support – Embed occupational therapy in a pilot led by CIMSPA and the DWP, that aims to create opportunities for job seekers (with a focus on young people) to gain training and employment in the sports and physical activity sector.
We recognise that organisations are unique and may require support outside of these offers, so we are also offering bespoke support opportunities.
If you’re a member of the Include to Improve Strategic Partner Network you should’ve received an email detailing the offers and how to apply. SPN organisations should email includetoimprove@activityalliance.org.uk with the name of the offer they’re interested in, and a brief summary of the reasons for the choice. The deadline to express your interest is 31 October 2025. A member of our team will contact you about your application and next steps.
