Special Olympics Great Britain (GB) has partnered with national governing bodies Basketball England and Basketball Wales to launch a new development plan aimed at creating more opportunities and pathways for people with intellectual disabilities to shine in basketball.

Ignite Bristol Hosts Inspiring Multi-Sport Festival at Clifton College
Clifton College’s Chellaram Sports Ground was buzzing with excitement this weekend as Ignite Bristol hosted its latest multi-sport festival, bringing together disabled and disadvantaged young people from across the city for an unforgettable day of community sport.
Ignite Bristol is a growing network of inclusive clubs and organisations spearheaded by Access Sport, united in their mission to empower disabled and disadvantaged young people to get active and remain engaged in sport.

The Dwarf Sports Association UK (DSAuk) has unveiled some key dates for its 2026 National Calendar, highlighting an exciting programme of events designed to champion inclusivity, competition, and community. With a strong focus on creating opportunities for athletes of all ages and abilities, the year ahead promises to be packed with sporting achievement and memorable moments.

UK Deaf Sport – 27 November
And that's a wrap! Thank you, Tokyo
All good things come to an end, yet we leave feeling very proud of our Deaflympics GB Team who exceeded expectations. 12 medals, including 5 golds and 11th in the medals table out of . In addition, all of those selected to compete were placed high in their events, many achieving their personal best.
For a team that is one of the very few countries without funding this is an incredible achievement and based on a budget of £500,000 one would argue it was done on a shoestring, or as a colleague once mentioned, the team was funded on bake sales!
LimbPower – 27 November
LimbPower Launches Next Cohort of reVAMP:
LimbPower is proud to open registration for the upcoming cycle of reVAMP, its 12 week adapted fitness and nutrition programme for amputees and individuals with limb difference. The programme has already supported hundreds of participants and consistently delivered transformative outcomes in terms of fitness, confidence, mobility, prosthetic trust and overall wellbeing.
Led by qualified personal trainer Jack Eyers with a dedicated support team including a prosthetist, physiotherapist, life coach and specialist instructors, reVAMP combines carefully designed adapted exercise circuits with practical nutrition guidance. This multidisciplinary support model is tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals living with limb difference.
Sport for Confidence – 24 November
Sport for Confidence selected by Sport England to showcase inclusive innovation on European stage
Sport for Confidence CIC has been named as one of just three UK organisations hand-picked by Sport England to share best practice at the prestigious Sports4All Innovation Summit, taking place in Antwerp, Belgium, from 30 November to 2 December 2025.
Hosted by Sport Vlaanderen, the Summit brings together over 1,000 sport professionals, policymakers, and social innovation leaders from across Europe. Its purpose is to explore, celebrate, and scale the most impactful social sport solutions improving access to physical activity for underserved communities.
International Mixed Ability Sports – 11 November
Barbarians Rugby Charitable Trust to support Mixed Ability rugby development!
International Mixed Ability Sports is delighted to announce that the Barbarians Rugby Charitable Trust has kindly agreed to support activities linked to the development of Mixed Ability rugby in Central and South America!
Following the success of the 4th International Mixed Ability Rugby Tournament (IMART), which saw the participation of more than 1,500 disabled and non-disabled rugby players – in both men’s and women’s teams – interest in establishing Mixed Ability rugby teams has surged in countries such as Argentina, Ecuador, Chile, Uruguay, Costa Rica and Mexico.
Disability Sports Coach – 7 November
Partnership in Merton improves activity levels among children
A partnership between Disability Sports Coach, the London Borough of Merton, and the Tim Henman Foundation has significantly improved activity levels among children after just a year.
Launching in September 2024 with tennis legend Tim Henman attending, Community Club Merton is a free inclusive sports club for all disabled children and young people in the borough. Alongside this, the Tim Henman Foundation has delivered 10 hours of inclusive sports at schools each week, reaching children aged 5-18. Activities include fun and engaging tennis sessions catering to children with a range of needs.

Engaging Wheelchair Participants in Sport
WheelPower is the national charity for wheelchair sport and it’s our mission to support disabled people of all ages to lead healthier and more active lives through movement, activity and sport.
We understand that there are many people in our community working with people with physical disabilities, and this short online course is here to give you the knowledge and confidence in your own organisations. Time is precious which is why we have re-engineered this course content to make the very best of your limited time. Leave confident to adapt any session for wheelchair users
British Blind Sport
McDonald's Fun Football Sessions - Solihull Moors Foundation
Solihull Moors Foundation will be hosting free blind and partially sighted McDonald's Fun Football sessions for children aged 5-11 with a visual impairment. These sessions provide the children with the exciting opportunity to learn new football skills, gain confidence, make new friends and have fun.
Session dates on Friday 5 December and Friday 12 December. Each session will run for one hour between 6 and 7pm.
