We are delighted to announce that Get Out Get Active (GOGA) has been shortlisted for an award at the highly respected Sports Industry Awards.
The nomination for Wellness in Sport award is a significant moment for the programme and a proud recognition of the impact GOGA continues to make in communities across the country. By creating inclusive opportunities for disabled and non-disabled people to be active together, GOGA is helping to tackle long-standing inequalities in sport and physical activity.
Everyone at Activity Alliance is incredibly proud of this achievement. Helen Derby Strategic Lead of Programmes, said:
"We are incredibly proud to see Get Out Get Active recognised on such a respected national stage. Everyone who has been a part of the GOGA journey knows how incredible it is, and it is fantastic that the impact is being recognised in this way.
"The nomination reflects the passion of our partners and the power of inclusive community activity to bring people together, break down barriers and create lasting change."
Through strong local partnerships and a community-led approach, the programme has supported thousands of people to move more in ways that work for them. From building confidence and improving wellbeing to strengthening community connections, GOGA demonstrates the transformative power of inclusive physical activity.
Being shortlisted for a Sports Industry Award highlights not only the innovation behind the programme, but also the dedication of the delivery partners, volunteers and participants who bring it to life every day. Their commitment to inclusion is creating lasting change and opening doors to activity for many who have traditionally faced barriers.
