A highlight of the junior para swimming season returns to Coventry

More than 100 young disabled swimmers from across the country are set to compete at the National Junior Para Swimming 2026 this weekend.

Taking place at the Alan Higgs Centre in Coventry on 13-14 June, the event is organised by Activity Alliance in partnership with Swim England. It is one of the highlights of the junior para-swimming calendar. The competition aims to increase participation opportunities and support talent development for young disabled swimmers.

The two-day event will feature four sessions of racing, bringing together swimmers from a range of classifications. For many competitors, the weekend provides an opportunity to gain valuable experience at a national event, while others will be looking to build on previous performances and achieve personal best times.

National Junior Para Swimming has a proud history of providing an inclusive and welcoming environment where disabled children and young people can enjoy the excitement of competition, develop confidence and progress within the sport. The event continues to play an important role in supporting the next generation of para-swimmers.

Jamie Blair, Senior Events Officer at Activity Alliance, said:

"We're excited to welcome around 100 swimmers, along with their families, coaches and supporters, to Coventry this weekend.
"National Junior Para Swimming is about creating positive experiences in sport and giving young disabled people the opportunity to challenge themselves, develop their skills and enjoy competing in a supportive environment.
"Every year we see swimmers grow in confidence, make new friendships and achieve things they never thought possible. We look forward to another fantastic weekend of racing."

Competition gets underway on Saturday afternoon, with further sessions taking place throughout Sunday. Activity Alliance would like to thank all swimmers, coaches, officials, volunteers and supporters for helping make the event possible and wishes everyone competing the very best of luck.

Organisations supporting the delivery of this year's event include:

  • Swim England - National Governing Body for swimming in England
