Sport for Confidence
New Westminster service helps more residents get active and improve wellbeing
Westminster residents living with long-term health conditions, disabilities, poor mental health, loneliness or major life changes can now access personalised support through SFC Connect, a new occupational therapy-led assessment service designed to help people overcome barriers to participation and connect with the activities, relationships and opportunities that matter most to them.
Delivered by Sport for Confidence CIC in partnership with Everyone Active and supported by Active Westminster and Westminster City Council, SfC Connect is an early help and prevention service that takes a personalised approach, helping residents overcome barriers to participation and reconnect with activities, community resources and opportunities that matter most to them.
Access Sport
Access Sport, together with Disability Sport Wales, Scottish Disability Sport, and Disability Sport Northern Ireland, have announced a groundbreaking partnership to deliver a new a UK-wide initiative designed to transform how sports clubs engage, empower, and support young people to become leaders in community sport.
From ‘Sideline to Centre’ aims to empower 8,000 young leaders, transform 500 community clubs, and reach 80,000 disabled children and young people across the UK by 2032.
This initiative is designed to create a game-changing shift across the sector by supporting more young people to step into meaningful leadership roles within their communities.

UK Deaf Sport
UK Deaf Sport x McDonald’s Fun Football – Centre Applications
UK Deaf Sport is pleased to announce we have extended our ongoing partnership with McDonald’s Fun Football to offer specific football opportunities for deaf children aged 5 to 11.
McDonald’s Fun Football offers football for children aged 5 to 11 of all abilities. Sessions are free sessions and are led by experienced and qualified coaches. Through fun games and activities, children can build confidence, develop new skills and enjoy football in a safe, friendly and inclusive environment.
Dwarf Sports Association UK
Everyone at DSAuk is deeply saddened and shocked to hear of the recent passing of Andrew Smith. It is especially difficult to believe that Andrew has gone, as he was still enjoying his love of cycling and sport.
Andrew was a remarkable athlete, both in his younger years and throughout his later life. He was a member of the GB team that first attended the World Dwarf Games in Chicago, alongside DSAuk President Arthur Dean OBE and his daughter Nichola, Graham Minnett and his daughter Kim and others . That pioneering teams experience helped inspire them and led to the formation of the DSAuk charity in 1993.
