Paralympic Legacy Fund for Sports Wheelchairs

The Sylvia Adams Charitable Trust (SACT) is delighted to announce that it is making available £50,000 of the Trust’s funds to enable UK clubs, schools and charities to acquire sports wheelchairs.

It is hoped that the excitement generated by the London Olympics and Paralympics will inspire other donors to join them and that the Fund will reach at least £100,000 by the time the Paralympic Games closes on September 9th.

This Fund will make available upward of 250 Motivation sports wheelchairs suitable for tennis, badminton, basketball, rugby league or racing. Motivation is a UK charity supporting people who encounter mobility as a barrier to accessing sport around the world and its sports wheelchairs are renowned for their affordability and design

The Trust will start accepting applications for a period of one month from September 9th, the day of the closing ceremony of the London Paralympic Games.  Applications must be made through the Trust’s website. Successful applicants will be required to raise 25% of the cost themselves.

Full details of the application process are available on the Trust’s website, www.sylvia-adams.org.uk  or from Jane Young / 01707 259259
