Run the TCS London Marathon 2022 for Activity Alliance

For a third successive year, the TCS London Marathon will once again take place in October. With the ballot officially closed, don't be disappointed about missing out. We are looking for fundraisers to take up one of our guaranteed charity places and support us in achieving fairness for disabled people in sport and activity.

Runners taking part in Virgin Money London Marathon

On Sunday 2 October, you will start the iconic 26.2 miles in Greenwich Park accompanied by 40,000 other runners. Along the route, you will run past the Cutty Sark, over the world-famous Tower Bridge and through the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf. The streets will be lined by hundreds of thousands of spectators as you run towards the Mall for a real hero's welcome in front of Buckingham Palace.

If you would like to take on this amazing challenge, you will need to sign-up through our fundraising registration form and commit to raising £1,500.

Why fundraise for Activity Alliance

Disabled people are the least active in our population – twice as likely to be inactive as non-disabled people. Before the pandemic, we were seeing glimmers of hope as disabled people’s activity levels were improving. Findings in our most recent Annual Disability and Activity Survey shows that less than 3 in 10 disabled people feel encouraged to return to physical activity after the pandemic. As the leading voice for disabled people in sport and activity, we are seriously concerned about the potential long-term damage to the nation’s least active.

Your support can help us in our vision of achieving fairness for disabled people in sport and activity. We cannot do this alone.

All runners will also benefit from:

  • an Activity Alliance team running vest so we can spot you in the crowd,
  • a friendly closed Facebook group where you can meet and share tips and advice from fellow teammates,
  • Activity Alliance fundraising pack, support, ideas, and guidance.

The TCS London Marathon public ballot

If you managed to bag yourself a ballot place, as a ballot runner, you get to choose who you would like to run for. By joining our team, you will get all the perks that our guaranteed place runners get just without the minimum sponsorship. Of course, we would love you to fundraise for us, but anything you raise will be a massive help and will allow us to achieve fairness for disabled people in sport and activity.

We do ask that if ballot runners would like to run in an official Activity Alliance running vest, they raise a minimum of £200.
