Inclusive Education Hub enhanced for inclusive leaders

The newly updated Inclusion 2024 inclusive education hub is now easier to use than ever before. The hub offers education practitioners across England access to all the essential resources for inclusive PE in one space.

Supporter talking to a disabled child

The Inclusion 2024 programme aims to increase and improve opportunities for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to engage and participate in physical education and school sport.

There is a growing concern that many disabled children continue to miss out or have negative experiences in PE and school sport. The inclusive education hub allows teachers and school staff to self-assess their inclusion of disabled students in PE and school sports. And based on feedback, we have developed the self-assessment site to make this process effortless.

The inclusive education hub works together with schools, experts, and local and national partners. Users will receive a personalised report with resources to explore their approach to inclusion.

Created in partnership by Activity Alliance, Youth Sport Trust and the Department for Education. The partners’ ambition is to support more teachers responsible for PE and school sport to engage more disabled students. The impact will mean more young people have accessible, positive, and meaningful experiences that will last a lifetime.

Since the launch of the hub in May 2022, Activity Alliance have collected user feedback to shape improvements and create a website that is easy to use. When users log in, they will be directed to their personal dashboard. Here, they can take or retake the self-assessment, view their results, and access their account area easily.

Once a practitioner has completed the self-assessment for the first time, a resources tab appears enabling access to all the website's resources and filtering them by four key themes. These themes are delivery and training, extra-curricular activities, governors/SMT and pupil engagement. This is a big improvement from the previous hub where a user would only see the resources suggested to them based on their self-assessment. Teachers and school staff can still access recommended resources based on their self-assessment. By having all the resources available, users can find guidance on specific areas they want to improve.

You can take the self-assessment by visiting the Inclusion 2024 inclusive education hub.
