Create inclusive activity that lasts - eLearning course

A brand-new online course will help you to create inclusive activities for disabled and non-disabled people.

A new eLearning course, released on the Activity Alliance Learning hub, can help you to create opportunities for disabled and non-disabled people to enjoy being active together.

Enrol in the 'create inclusive activities that last eLearning course' on the Activity Alliance Learning Hub.

The low-cost opportunity will help you to understand and respond to local needs, reach inactive groups, and break-down barriers so more people can benefit from being active. It will support you to develop a better understanding of how to design and deliver high quality, positive experiences.

Helen Derby, Strategic Lead for Programmes at Activity Alliance said:

"This isn't just about ticking boxes, it's about empowering the incredible people who are on the front lines, creating and delivering these activities. We've seen firsthand the transformative power of the Get Out Get Active (GOGA) programme, and with Continuum's expertise, we're taking the learning and knowledge from GOGA and making it accessible to everyone who wants to make a real impact."

Made up of 4 modules, each is designed to increase your knowledge and confidence. They are:

  • Introduction – Find out more about good practice from Activity Alliance’s Get Out Get Active (GOGA) programme, the importance of being active, the Equality Act, and Activity Alliance’s Talk to Me Principles.
  • Designing your offer - Understand more about local needs and demand for activities, the audiences you’re targeting, how to engage them and developing your offer.
  • Preparing to deliver your offer – Learn key delivery principles, explore the wider considerations of being inclusive for your organisation and workforce, understand how to cover costs and promote your offer.
  • Sustaining your offer – Successfully sustain your offer and manage its growth.

If you work or volunteer for community organisations, local sports clubs, and charities this course is for you. It also offers support and guidance to organisations that deliver activities like local authorities, National Governing Bodies, Active Partnerships and national charities.
