They provide advice, support, and opportunities for people of all ages with specific impairments to take part in sport and activity.

Launch of 'The Golden Legacy Series' podcast
To celebrate 50 years of British Blind Sport, we are delighted to announce the launch of our brand new podcast series - The Golden Legacy Series.
We are honoured to welcome Tim Hollingsworth, CEO of Sport England, as our first guest of the season.
Tim shares key moments from his remarkable career, from the success of the London 2012 Paralympic Games during his time as CEO of the British Paralympic Association to the 'Uniting the Movement' strategy at Sport England.
The episode is live on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube for you to enjoy. The next episode will be released on Friday 30th May with BBS Founding Member, Mike Brace CBE.
WheelPower - May
Engaging Wheelchair Participants in Sport
WheelPower are offering a FREE short online course to adapt your sports session for wheelchair participants. The course is perfect if you are a teacher, coach, sports student, physiotherapist, or occupational therapist.
WheelPower is the national charity for wheelchair sport and it’s their mission to support disabled people of all ages to lead healthier and more active lives through movement, activity and sport.
This course will enable you to support WheelPower in the delivery of programmes and events as well as other governing bodies, organisations and clubs that provide opportunities for disabled people to participate in wheelchair sport and physical activity.
Upcoming dates for the course include Thursday 12 June and Thursday 24 July.

DSAuk’s 32nd National Games Weekend a Triumphant Celebration of Sport
The 32nd National Games Weekend, hosted by the Dwarf Sports Association UK (DSAuk), was an extraordinary success, uniting athletes, families, and supporters in a four-day celebration of sport, achievement, and community spirit. Held from Friday 23 May to Monday, 26 May, participants from across the country came together in the Midlands for a packed schedule of competition.
Events over the long weekend included powerlifting, track and field races, basketball, hockey, cycling, new age kurling, shooting, swimming and football.
Special Olympics Great Britain - 16 May
Double Olympic Champion Matt Richards joins 175 athletes at Cheshire Penguins Gala
Double Olympic gold medallist and Special Olympics GB Swimming Ambassador, Matt Richards MBE, joined athletes, families, and volunteers at the recent Special Olympics Great Britain (GB) Swimming Gala, hosted by Cheshire Penguins at Liverpool Aquatics Centre.
Matt who became Special Olympics GB Swimming Ambassador for the charity last year, spent the afternoon meeting and cheering on athletes in the gala’s races, in addition posing for photos, presenting medals, and bringing his signature energy and enthusiasm to poolside.
