Disability Sports Organisations and charities are a good starting point for many deaf and disabled people who want to be more active. They provide advice, support, and opportunities for people of all ages with specific impairments to take part in sport and activity.

LimbPower – 30 October
LimbPower Celebrates Five Years of reVAMP
LimbPower, the national charity supporting amputees and individuals with limb difference, proudly marks the five-year anniversary of its flagship reVAMP 12-week fitness and nutrition programme. Since its launch in 2020, reVAMP has empowered 360 participants across 16 programme cycles to improve their physical and mental wellbeing through inclusive, accessible, and community-driven support.
International Mixed Ability Sports – 28 October
International showcase for Mixed Ability children’s books
2025 sees the launch of Diego’s Team, a new children’s book about Mixed Ability by English author, Pauline Brown. Diego’s Team follows the captivating tale of Diego, a playful young alpaca who just wants to join in the fun. When the other animals say he’s too different to play their games, Diego must find the courage to be himself – and soon shows everyone the true meaning of friendship and teamwork.
Sense – 28 October
Sensory snooker session receives Every Body Moves Club of the Month Award
Sensory snooker offers the opportunity for people with complex disabilities and sensory impairments to play snooker in a more sensory and engaging way. Each sensory snooker activity is designed and delivered to reach individual desired goals and celebrate every achievement. Designed in partnership between Sense and World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA), the sessions have grown from the original pilot at Elite Snooker Club in Preston, to encompass locations all across the UK.
Dwarf Sports Association UK – 24 October
Shining a Light on the Dwarf Sports Association UK
As a National Disability Sports Organisation, DSAuk is dedicated to making sport both accessible and enjoyable for anyone with dwarfism across the United Kingdom. Through its vibrant network of regional groups and the flagship National Games, DSAuk provides opportunities for people of all ages to take part in a wide range of sporting activities from grassroots participation to elite competition.
UK Deaf Sport – 15 October
Powerful Words from UK Deaf Sport at the State of Play Enquiry
On Tuesday 14 October UK Deaf Sport Chief Executive Officer Chris Ratcliffe attended the Culture, Media and Sport Commons Select Committee in Parliament to give evidence at the State of Play Enquiry. Alongside deaf athletes Henry Hughes and Nathan Young, Chris spent over an hour answering questions on why the Deaflympics isn’t treated equally to the Olympics and Paralympics.
Special Olympics Great Britain – 7 October
Special Olympics GB outlines new concept for 2026 National Summer Games
The Board of Trustees of Special Olympics Great Britain (GB) has approved plans to stage a newly structured National Summer Games in 2026, which could provide competition opportunities for around 1,700 children and adults with an intellectual disability.

Sport for Confidence – 30 September
Supported Gym Programme - Brian’s story
Sport for Confidence are proud to support people in finding new ways to be active, regain confidence, and build strength through our Supported Gym programme. Designed in partnership with the Active Wellbeing team, the programme provides personalised guidance and one-to-one support for those who may find traditional gym settings challenging. This month, we’re celebrating an important milestone as Brian prepares to become the very first graduate of the programme.
Access Sport – 25 September
Access Sport, the national sports inclusion charity, in partnership with NICAS (National Indoor Climbing Award Schemes), has celebrated the one-year anniversary of NICAS Ascend - the UK’s first national climbing award scheme co-designed with, and tested by, disabled and neurodivergent climbers with high support needs.
Disability Rights UK – 24 September 2025
Disability Rights UK Co-production Narrative
This resource aims to support the sport and physical activity sector, as well as wider organisations, to provide direction and clarity around what co-production is and what it isn’t. The guide, alongside the information and hints/tips, can be used as a starting point to guide conversations and help support how you might decide to do co-production in ways that fit your work and the people you work with. There’s also a feedback survey here for those who have used the resource to share their thoughts.
