Activity Alliance to host first Community of Practice webinar
Activity Alliance is delighted to announce our first Community of Practice online event set to take place at 13:00 on Monday 19 January.
This relaxed and interactive webinar will bring people together to explore what Leading Inclusion looks like across different places, teams and contexts. It offers a welcoming space to listen, learn and connect with others who are passionate about creating inclusive change in sport and physical activity.
The session will feature a panel of partners who are actively putting Leading Inclusion into practice:
- Nikki English, Sport Birmingham
- George Cull, North Yorkshire Sport
- Mike Tuson, Salford Community Leisure
- Ian Spencer, Active Humber
Leading Inclusion is Activity Alliance’s framework that supports organisations, networks and places to embed inclusive practice. Through self-reflection, group discussion and meaningful action planning, it helps address stubborn inequalities, encourages collaboration, and ensures disabled people can influence policy and decision-making. Ultimately, it supports the creation of sports and activities that meet disabled people’s needs.
Find out more about Leading Inclusion on the Actitivy Alliance website.
During this Community of Practice event, panel members will share honest reflections on their journeys, including:
- Implementation – how Leading Inclusion has been developed within their local areas
- Overcoming barriers – navigating challenges and unexpected obstacles
- Impact – successes and positive changes seen so far
- Adaptability – how action plans have evolved to reflect local needs and priorities
Whether you are already involved in Leading Inclusion or are keen to learn more, this event is open to everyone and designed to inspire practical learning and shared understanding.
