Annual Survey 2022 data on people with specific impairments

Our Annual Disability and Activity Survey released in June revealed that less than 3 in 10 disabled people feel encouraged to return to physical activity after the pandemic. Today, we release a report linked to this survey, which highlights the key findings from people with different types of impairments.

The wider challenges disabled people face accessing sport and physical activity can often be similar regardless of impairment or condition. Feedback from our member organisations, and disabled people, shows how useful and important it is to have a deeper understanding of the differences between the various types of impairments.

Our Annual Survey impairment report highlights the differences in key data points for people with the following impairments:

  • mobility,
  • learning, understanding, or concentrating,
  • long-term health condition,
  • mental health,
  • hearing,
  • visual, and
  • social or behavioural

We developed the report in consultation with our member organisations. It covers each impairment type and provides extra considerations and resources for the four Annual Survey recommendations.
